Our consultants were offering the expertise in parsing the binary files. This is a challenging activity and the most important part of the project. The problem was solved by analysing multiple binary files and by checking each byte of the file. Our consultants created Binary Templates to parse the binary files into a data structure. Instead of scanning through a series of hex bytes as with traditional hex editors, Templates allow data to be understood and edited in a much more powerful and intuitive way. Template is executed as a program, starting from the first line of the file. Whenever a variable is declared, that variable is mapped to a set of bytes in a file. Data from that file can then be read from or written to by accessing the created variable.

The client’s core applications were built using Microsoft technologies. The database was SQL Server and they used Crystal Reports for reporting and analytics purposes. They were also planning to migrate to Navision. Our offshore team built a comprehensive reporting plan and over a period of 18 months built several complex reports, which provided tremendous insight into their operations and made them confident of moving to Navision ERP system. We also provided SQL design, development and administration support, during the course of engagement with this client.
